This week we welcome Darren Hudema, Puroclean Joseph Morphis, Rainbow, Ken Siders, ETA, Paul Clark, Storm Consultants and Tim Fagan, Belfor with a boots on the ground report on the restoration industry’s response to hurricane’s Helene and Milton.
This week Radio Joe Hughes and Pete “Global Restoration Watchdog” Consigli will interview a diverse panel of restoration responders to the back to back hurricanes that affected Florida and several southeastern states this past month. The watchdog will be sitting in for the Z-man Zlotnik this week as Cliff has a conflict. Radio Joe and Pete have recruited 3 prominent panelists from the restoration industry to include, the President of Rainbow, Josh Miller, the Technical Training Director for PuroClean, Darren Hudema, and the President of 1-800-Board-up, 1-800-Water-Damage and Blue Kangaroo Packoutz, Tim Fagan. Rounding out the 5 person all star panel are 2 Floridians from the Environmental consulting and Roofing sectors, Ken Siders of ETA Environmental and Paul Clark of Storm Consultants.
Radio Joe and the Restoration Watchdog will use a round table format to have the panel report on what they are seeing on the ground. This will include the challenges being faced by responders regarding mobilization, logistics, insurance coverages, and compliance with state licensing.
Additionally the panel will weigh-in on the importance to have a support system and need for a vetted network of providers if one is to respond to an area wide catastrophic disaster zone!

Paul E. Clark is a professional who has been in the roofing and insurance industry for over 25 years. Paul truly cares about this evolving industry. Two years ago, Paul created Storm Consultants in the hopes to educate and help industry professionals better understand the continued law and building code changes. He also educates companies & property owners on the correct approach on how to handle their clients property claims, through his trusted partnerships in the industry.
Joseph Morphis is the Vice President of National Sales for Rainbow Restoration. He is an experienced professional with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry and education. Skilled in Management, Education, Insurance, Sales, Team Building, and
Public Speaking. Strong sales professional with a Master of Business Administration – MBA focused in Business Administration and Management, General from Tarleton State University.
Tim Fagan, CR, WLS has been in the restoration industry for over 30 years, having been CEO and owner of a predecessor water mitigation/contents company which was acquired and became part of the BELFOR family of companies in 2010. He has managed numerous accounts and emergency losses in residential, hospital, university, commercial, manufacturing, multi-family, and K-12 school facilities. In 2018, Tim took on the duties as President of 1-800-WATER DAMAGE, and in 2019, he also took over as President of Blue Kangaroo PACKOUTZ. In 2022, he was also named President of 1-800-BOARDUP. All three brands within the BELFOR Franchise Group have demonstrated prolific growth under Fagan’s leadership. Fagan is a former collegiate wrestler, who graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and holds two post-graduate degrees in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to starting in the restoration field in 1995, his past professions have included Deputy Sheriff (8 years) , High School Football and Wrestling Coach, and High School Administrator (7 years) . Fagan is a licensed builder as well as a Restoration Industry Association, Certified Restorer (CR) and Water Loss Specialist (WLS). Fagan has been married to his wife, Sue, for 33 years. The couple have raised six children and now have four grandchildren. They reside in Commerce Twp., Michigan.
Darren Hudema has over 46 years of experience in the restoration and cleaning industry. His extensive career spans multiple roles, including carpet and upholstery cleaning technician, water mitigation specialist, project manager, operations manager, Director of Operations, and consultant. He previously owned a cleaning and restoration business in British Columbia, which he sold in 2000 when he transitioned to teaching with Dri-Eaz Products and served as an Account Manager for Legend Brands. In 2019, Darren became the Director of Training and Technical Services at PuroClean, based in Tamarac, FL. In this role, he develops training programs and materials to support and train new and existing franchise business owners and their technicians,
helping them grow their companies profitably. Darren holds a Water Loss Specialist
(WLS) designation through the Restoration Industry Association (RIA) and is an IICRC Triple Master. He is also an approved IICRC WRT/ASD instructor, widely respected for his expertise.
Darren has published numerous articles in industry trade journals and has been a featured speaker at prominent conferences such as the Restoration Industry Association (RIA), JLC Live, DRC, Crawford Connections, and IAQA. He also serves on several industry committees, including the IICRC S500 Consensus Body, IICRC Board of Directors, and the California Energy Commission's Project Advisory Committee, contributing to reports on energy-efficient, mold-resistant building materials. He is a dedicated family man, married to his wife Tricia, with three adult children and three grandchildren. Darren's passion for cooking, grilling, and smoking food on the BBQ complements his commitment to serving the restoration industry. Throughout his career, he has earned accolades, including the 2021 Servant Leadership Award at
PuroClean and three Quality Champion Awards for outstanding contributions.
Ken Siders is the ETA Senior Environmental Consultant. His past leadership roles were at Housecheck where he was the National Senior Vice President of Environmental Services. Ken has
been doing Structural Environmental work for over 20 years. He was also an Environmental Consultant for the Navy, Air Force TSA and a Building Contractor for both Commercial and Residential projects.
He is currently provides building Inspections, Expert Witness services and Structural Environmental Disaster Response. In addition to his work experience Ken is an Advisory Board Member – Science Counsel for the Restoration Industry Association
